ELICOS “English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students” is for international students who use English as their second language, this course assists students either to develop their level of English or to continue onto their academic studies.
There are different types of English courses:
- EAP (English for academic purposes) this course prepares the students for vocational or tertiary-level study in Australia & several other frameworks where the medium of instruction is in English.
- DEP (Direct entry program) is a high level English program that aims to improve the students English language skills concentration on their Listening, reading, writing & speaking.
- GE (General English) this course incorporates Reading, writing, listening and speaking skills into most of the class activities and the students develop a strong foundation in their grammar and vocabulary. Special attention is given on developing confidence in speaking and listening skills.
Entry requirements vary according to the type of studies students choose and also their current level of English, while some catering for beginners and some requiring more advanced English language skills. In most cases entry requirements with the chosen institution.
Upon completion of an English course students might have options for pathway programmes leading to Degree, Graduate, Diploma & Advance diploma courses.
